Madeira cake recipe
Using
a wooden spoon or electric whisk, cream the butter and sugar together until
light and fluffy. Lightly beat the eggs with the milk in a separate bowl.
Gradually beat the eggs and milk into the creamed mixture, alternating with the
flour.
Turn
the mixture into the prepared tin and level the surface. Bake in a preheated
oven, 160`C (325`F), gas mark 3, for the
time indicated in the chart or until a skewer, inserted in the centre, comes
out cleanly. Leave the cake in the tin for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a
wire rack to cool.
